They are cool and not that hard first but it gets repetitive. Different look yes but in functionality they are the same. The areas are distinct enough but could have more variety. there is no map! But it's fine as it's more linear than many metroid-likes. Probably a bit too short for it's price! No multiple endings, no real replay value.
Also there are some cool flashbacks which you control too! Honestly I'm mixed about this title.
Fantastic atmosphere! Decent checkpoints and satisfying killing. What I like is the really cool pixel art, nice lighting, fantastic sound design, crazy abilities, useful physics system. As you get more abilities, you can progress more and solve more puzzles. The monster is a tentacle monster with many abilities you can gain, make yourself bigger, stronger as you eat humans, growing and being more menacing and versatile. Very unique game! Great concept!
